THE SECRET PRINCESS is a partly non-industrial brand, designed by Aniko (Aniko Fashion & Design) and based on the authentic indigenous handicraft of the Berber women living in the Moroccan Sahara.

The brand vibrates between individually handmade tye & dye fabrics, handcrafted glass bead embroideries handed down for generations and plant colors dyed leather, for example with homegrown Indigo. All this is matched with modern European style. The industrial part of the production will be crafted in the high fashion workshops in Veneto/Northern Italy.

The idea of the brand grew on the authentic experience Aniko lived herself in the Moroccan Sahara. She spent some wonderful years in a loving relationship with the nomad Said, both going back and forth between the worlds of a silent desert and a pulsating fashion business life in Vienna and Paris.

First Aniko wrote a book about their beginnings. Now she is developing her new brand.

Aniko has known her partners in the Sahara personally for several years and her adventure has led to some warm friendships between her and these women from such a different world. Matching the Berber women’s handicrafts into a high fashion brand provides them an international market, giving them even more proudness for their inherited handworks and a step towards Mnancial freedom, as they get direct and fair payment.

Not only sustainable fashion, but this is also social fashion supporting and promoting indigenous traditional culture.
